Today, Dr. Charles Covert, a Houston Psychiatrist, and his staff were invited to attend an important scientific presentation by Gerald McGuire, M.D., Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Department of Psychiatry, The University of California Medical School, Irvine. Dr. McGuire’s topic was “Managing Adult Patients with Manic or Mixed Episodes Associated with Bipolar I Disorder or Schizophrenia”.

Dr. McGuire’s interactive presentation covered the relative comparison of Saphris (Asenapine) to other atypical antipsychotic medication options. Dr. Covert’s patients appreciate the dedication and commitment to providing access for them to the most effective and current psychiatric medications and treatments. Dr. Covert particularly appreciated the opportunity to have a one-on-one consultation with Dr. McGuire on the professor’s particular subspecialty in the treatment of stuttering.
